Ingredients

Cocktail sausages
  • 2 packages (14 oz each) cocktail sausages
Honey mustard glaze
  • 0.3333333333 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp whole grain mustard
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
Topping
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 chopped fresh chives

Equipment

  • 1 cast iron skillet

Method

Brown the sausages
  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the cocktail sausages and brown for 5-6 minutes, turning so they color evenly.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, stirring so it doesn’t burn.
Make the sticky honey mustard glaze
  1. Whisk together the honey, whole grain mustard, Dijon mustard, and soy sauce in a bowl. Pour the mixture over the browned sausages so they’re coated.
  2. Simmer the sausages over medium heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring often. Cook until the glaze is thick and sticky, with a glossy, clingy coating.
Finish and serve
  1. Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the glazed sausages. Add chopped fresh chives on top for a fresh green finish.
  2. Serve the honey mustard cocktail sausages warm. Use toothpicks for easy grab-and-go appetizers.

Notes

Pro tip: Simmer until the glaze clings to the sausages—if it looks thin, keep cooking in short bursts while stirring often. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat gently in a skillet over low heat until warmed through. Freezing is not recommended because the glaze can lose its glossy texture. For a lower-sodium swap, use reduced-sodium soy sauce.
