  • 6 slices bread Cubed (any type).
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage Cooked and crumbled.
Egg-cheese custard
  • 8 eggs Large eggs.
  • 1.5 cup whole milk
  • 2 cup sharp cheddar Shredded.
  • 0.25 tsp salt To taste.
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper To taste.

Method
 

Prep the casserole
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13 dish.
  2. Spread the bread cubes evenly in the bottom of the dish.
  3. Scatter the cooked sausage crumbles over the bread.
Mix and assemble
  1. Whisk the eggs and whole milk together with salt and black pepper.
  2. Stir in 1.5 cups of the shredded sharp cheddar until evenly combined.
  3. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and sausage, pressing the bread down to soak, then top with the remaining cheese.

  1. Bake at 375°F for 40–45 minutes until completely set and golden, with a visibly bubbling cheese top.
