Ingredients

Goat cheese appetizer components
  • 8 oz goat cheese log
  • 0.3333 cup fig jam
  • 0.3333 cup pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 flaky sea salt
  • 1 crackers for serving
  • 1 sliced pears for serving

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Toast the pecans
  1. Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat, then add pecans and brown sugar.
  2. Toast for 3-4 minutes, stirring, until pecans are fragrant and lightly candied; cool on parchment.
Assemble the goat cheese log
  1. Place the goat cheese log on a serving board.
  2. Spoon fig jam over the top, letting it run down the sides.
  3. Scatter candied pecans and rosemary over the jam.
  4. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with flaky sea salt; serve with crackers and pears.

Notes

For the cleanest slice-and-spread, let the pecans cool fully before topping so the jam doesn’t become sticky. Store assembled fig jam goat cheese in the refrigerator up to 2 days; crackers are best kept separate to avoid softening. To make it dairy-reduced, swap in a plain plant-based “goat-style” log if you prefer a lighter option.
