Non-Alcoholic Layered Drinks

Non-alcoholic layered drinks with three vivid jewel-toned layers—deep red grenadine, golden lemonade, and bright blue raspberry—stacked in a clear glass without bleeding. This virgin layered drink floats each liquid for clean, distinct bands and is ideal for a party mocktail or 4th of July drink.

Ingredients

Layered drink components
  • 0.25 cup grenadine syrup Use chilled if your bottle is cold for best visual separation.
  • 0.5 cup lemonade, chilled Chill thoroughly to reduce mixing and keep layers crisp.
  • 0.25 cup blue raspberry sports drink or blue raspberry lemonade, chilled Choose one option and chill.
  • ice cubes Fill nearly to the top so layers stack tall.
  • maraschino cherries and striped straws for garnish Use for the top decoration and serving.

Method

Build the layers
  1. Fill a tall clear glass with ice cubes almost to the top.
  2. Pour 1/4 cup grenadine syrup slowly over the ice so it sinks to the bottom as the first layer.
  3. Hold a spoon back just above the ice and gently pour the 1/2 cup chilled lemonade over it to form a clean middle layer.
  4. Using the same spoon method, pour the 1/4 cup chilled blue raspberry sports drink over the spoon to float it as the top layer.
  5. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a striped straw and serve immediately without stirring.

Notes

For the sharpest color separation, keep all liquids very cold and pour slowly over the back of the spoon; do not stir after layering. Store any leftover syrupy liquid unassembled in the fridge up to 24 hours, but the layered look is best made fresh and served immediately—no freezing recommended. Dietary swap: use sugar-free lemonade and a sugar-free blue raspberry drink for a lower-sugar version while keeping the layering technique.
