Ingredients

Refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 2 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough Use straight from the refrigerator.
Orange zest sugar
  • 0.5 cup sugar Toss with fresh orange zest for a fragrant coating.
  • 2 oranges Use only the zest for the coating; save zest for the glaze.
Orange glaze
  • 0.75 cup powdered sugar Stir until smooth with the warm glaze.
  • 2 tbsp fresh orange juice Fresh juice gives the best bright flavor.
  • 1 tsp orange zest Measure finely grated zest for the glaze.
  • 1 tbsp butter Melted butter helps the glaze set glossy.

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan
  • 1 bundt pan

Method

Prep and bake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a bundt or loaf pan so the pull-apart biscuits release cleanly.
  2. In a bowl, mix sugar and orange zest together until fragrant and evenly combined.
  3. Cut each biscuit into quarters, then toss the pieces in the orange-sugar mixture until well coated.
  4. Arrange the coated biscuit pieces evenly in the prepared pan to encourage an even bake and layered pulling.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes at 350°F until golden and cooked through.
Glaze and serve
  1. Invert the loaf onto a serving plate immediately while still warm so the sticky pieces hold together.
  2. Drizzle the orange glaze over the top right away so it soaks slightly and pools at the base.

Notes

For the easiest release, invert the loaf right after baking and keep it warm while glazing. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator up to 3 days; rewarm in the oven at 300°F for 8–10 minutes. Freezing: yes, freeze slices tightly wrapped up to 2 months and thaw overnight in the fridge. If you want a less sweet version, reduce the sugar by 2–3 tbsp and use freshly zested oranges to keep the citrus flavor bright.
